Volunteering

At Crescent Funerals, we pride ourselves on delivering services of the highest professional standards.  On occasion, and if the need arises, we do this using volunteers.  Volunteering can give an individual a profound sense of purpose and community. It can change a person’s outlook on life teaching them empathy and patience. Most importantly, it grounds a person spiritually. It also continues to be one of the most revered and rewarding acts of our faith.

Volunteer roles for both ladies and men are always available in various areas of bereavement services.

Female volunteers: Our existing experienced female members will train you in providing ghusl and kafn at a basic level. With time and experience, you will be trained to coordinate and lead a team of your own. Our most experienced members go on to recruit and train other members of our community. We are also currently looking to develop a team to provide bereavement support to bereaved families who may find it difficult to access such services.

Male volunteers: Again, our existing experienced male members will train you in providing ghusl and kafn at a basic level. With time and experience, you also will be trained to coordinate and lead a team of your own, and eventually go on to recruit and train other male members of our community.

We also need male volunteers to help our existing volunteer teams make collections and transfers to the cemetery. Site teams who assist families at the graveside with burials are also desperately needed.

If you wish to register as a volunteer please complete and submit the form below. One of our team members will be in touch to discuss your submission.
