If death occurred on a Friday evening, weekend, or Bank Holiday please contact the hospital Duty Manager to make arrangements for a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death (MCCD) to be issued.  

 

If death occurred on a weekday or during normal working hours please contact UHL Bereavement Services to arrange for the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death (MCCD) to be issued including body release and collection

If the MCCD has already been issued the next stage of the funeral process is to register the death with the Registrar of Birth & Deaths
